Project DASH from DoorDash: Delivery to Neighbors
DoorDash is temporarily opening up their Project DASH prograsm to accept organizations who do not currently use to address the SNAP emergency.
Please see below for information from DoorDash:
Project DASH is DoorDash’s flagship social impact initiative that helps deliver food and essential items to people facing food insecurity - who often experience transportation or mobility barriers.
How Project DASH Works:
- Food banks, pantries, and other social impact organizations use DoorDash’s logistics platform to deliver food, hygiene products, and other essentials from their pickup sites (or partner agency pickup sites) directly to clients.
- Project DASH is separate from the DoorDash app - partner organizations request deliveries in bulk on behalf of their clients, and clients do not engage with the DoorDash app.
- Project DASH partner organizations can request DoorDash delivery support with as little as one hour’s notice - distributions can be planned well in advance, or we can help provide last-minute backup during staff or volunteer driver shortages.
- Project DASH partners pay a discounted rate per delivery and are invoiced monthly - clients do not pay DoorDash for these deliveries.
Deliveries are typically $4.95 each and can be dropped off within a 10-mile radius of pickup. However, as part of DoorDash’s response to the current SNAP emergency which includes delivering 1 million meals for free through Project DASH partners, we will waive up to $1,000 in delivery fees in November 2025 for each new Project DASH partner organization. To learn more about Project DASH, please review our one-pager and the FAQs we've compiled for potential new partners.
When you're ready to join, please use this link to sign up for Project DASH. When selecting the order size in Step 2 (Business Info), choose "standard" if you expect to deliver under 25 pounds per household, or “oversized” if you expect to deliver more than 25 pounds per household.
Upon enrollment, you'll get an email confirmation with instructions on how to schedule your training. We'll then guide you through the DoorDash portal, demonstrating how to schedule and track deliveries. You can expect to begin delivering with Project DASH two weeks after signing up.
Email projectdash@doordash.com with any questions.
