Introducing New Covenant Center of Stamford
When Connecticut Foodshare provided a grant to the pantry to help their remodel, new freezers were just one of the benefits.
Leadership at the pantry is not only skilled, but compassionate and in tune with their neighbors' needs.
Betsy Lopez of New Covenant shared the impact of the grant and new equipment, "The grant-funded project has had a positive impact on the individuals and families we serve by increasing our ability to provide fresh and nutritious food options. With the new refrigerator and freezer units, we can accept and safely store larger quantities of perishable food, including dairy products, fresh produce, meat, and other refrigerated items. This has increased the variety and availability of healthy food choices for
pantry participants and reduced the likelihood of turning away donations due to limited storage space."
"With more storage space and reliable equipment, we can offer a wider selection of fresh and nutritious food items to pantry participants, improving their overall experience. These improvements have strengthened our ability to meet community needs and provide higher-quality food assistance to those we serve."
