Mobile Food Pantry

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Will I have to show an ID or answer any questions to get food?

No. There are no questions asked, and no ID is required

  • What kinds of food should I expect?

Items vary from week to week, but fresh produce is frequently offered, as well as bread and snack items.

  • Can I also pick up food for a friend or family member?

No. To ensure there is enough food at each location, only people aged 16 or older who attend the Mobile Pantry in person can pick up food.

  • Should I arrive before the distribution begins?

You should plan to arrive as close to the listed start time as possible but there is no reason to arrive very early.

  • Are bags or boxes provided?

No. Please bring a bag, box, or a rolling cart to carry your food. On average, each person receives about 20 pounds of food.

  • How do I know if a Mobile Pantry distribution is cancelled?

The easiest way is to sign up for our Mobile Texting service; you can find a Mobile Pantry location near you and sign up to receive text notifications of site cancellations. Sign up by texting the word Foodshare to 85511 and follow the prompts.

You can also check our website. Mobile Pantry distributions are automatically cancelled if the schools in town are closed for the FULL DAY due to weather conditions.

"I go there when I don’t have anything…they have nice vegetarian stuff. It’s a big help, a very, very big help! They’re all so nice. They take my bag and say, ‘Let me help you’. Thank you very much."
